Extrusion of Metal has now been established as a proven process for manufacture of section, tubes and other hollow complex shapes. In the beginning, the process was developed for soft metals and alloys such as solder wire and lead, it was developed in great strides for extrusion of aluminium, copper and brass, steels other strong alloys. With the advent of control instrumentation and softwares for manufacturing and control, today there are extrusion shops that are completely automated from billet handling to extrusion, right up to automatic handling, cutting, bundling and packing, ready for delivery, virtually manned by a single operator, with a few assistants for material handling.
With the resurgent economy and the growth at an enhanced pace, industrial output in slated to grow in leaps and bound. Just as in any other business at this juncture, there are going to be many new opportunities, materials, plant and machinery, technology in the area of Metal Extrusion too.
While the technology has existed in India on basic level, there are going to be very different demands on the metal extrusion industry, in terms of technology, systems, applications and business / investment opportunities.
